Not at all! While you can use a DA polisher and a polishing pad to use our Scratch & Swirl Remover, it’s not necessary. A microfiber applicator or microfiber towel will work just as well, and may actually provide you better results.

You can use Scratch & Swirl Remover on any painted vehicle surface and get great results. We do not recommend using it on chrome or plastic, though.

It depends if the rust spot goes deeper than the clearcoat of the vehicle. If the rust is sitting on top of it, Scratch & Swirl Remover should remove it just fine with a little elbow grease. However, if the rust cuts deeper than the clearcoat, it will likely need to be professionally removed and require repainting.

Scratch & Swirl Remover should not be used on PPF or vinyl wrap, as it will likely damage it.

Theoretically, it can be used to remove surface-level contaminants like water spots or baked on bugs, but a more effective and less risky solution would be to check out products like our Water Spot Remover and Bug & Tar Remover to take care of these issues.

Since this product is designed for very surface-level scratches that don’t cut past the clearcoat, Scratch & Swirl Remover will unfortunately not remove scratches from keying. Key marks typically cut far past the clear coat, and sometimes even down into the metal of the vehicle. You may likely need a paint touch-up and full cutting and polishing to finish.

As long as the scrape is just paint transfer from the other vehicle, Scratch & Swirl Remover could absolutely remove the scrape. However, if the scrape cuts past the clearcoat, you’ll likely need a repaint or paint restoration.

You should only use Scratch & Swirl Remover as needed. While it is mild, it is still an abrasive, so if it is used too frequently on one area of the vehicle body, you could cut down to the paint layer, which will allow oxidation and bleaching from the sun to wreak havoc on the appearance of your vehicle.
